HC Deb 21 March 1934 vol 287 cc1199-200
18. Mr. MANDER

asked the Minister of Transport whether he has yet received a report from the London and Home Counties Traffic Advisory Committee regarding the possible use of the River Thames for passenger transport services?

The Minister of TRANSPORT (Mr. Oliver Stanley)

I have been advised by the Committee that they consider that this question raises so many issues that it is desirable to hold a public inquiry in the matter and that they have appointed the following of their members to hold such inquiry and to submit a report:

  • Sir Henry Jackson, M.A., M.B., M.P.
  • Mr. J. W. Barton.
  • Mr. H. E. Clay.
  • Mr. Bertram Galer, M.A., F.I.A., J.P.
  • Sir John Pakeman, C.B.E.

Mr. MANDER

Can the hon. Gentleman say when the sittings of the committee are likely to begin?

Mr. STANLEY

No, Sir.
