HC Deb 20 March 1934 vol 287 c1017
5 Mr. MITCHESON

asked the Secretary for Mines if he can furnish an estimate of the United Kingdom production of all forms of motor spirit in 1933; and what percentage this constitutes of our total consumption in that year?

Mr. E. BROWN

It is estimated that about 43,000,000 gallons of motor spirit were produced in Great Britain from indigenous materials in 1933. This represents about 3¾ per cent. of the estimated consumption of motor spirit in that year.
