Mr. JOHN (for Mr. DAVID WILLIAMS)asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the number of persons in receipt of pension under the Blind Persons Act, 1920, in England and Wales, and whether it is intended to introduce legislation to grant them the old age pension in addition on reaching 70 years of age?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAThe number of persons in England and Wales in receipt of a pension under the Blind Persons Act, 1920, at the end of 1933 was 22,167. I am unable to hold out any hope of legislation.
