HC Deb 05 March 1934 vol 286 c1546

Motion made, and Question proposed, That a Supplementary sum, not exceeding £10, be granted to His Majesty to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1934, for the Salaries and Expenses of the Office of Land Registry.

3.45 p.m.

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

This Supplementary Estimate, like the original Estimate, is a token Estimate only. Owing to an unexpected increase in the work during the year the gross expenditure provided for in the original Estimate has proved insufficient. The increase will be more than covered by an increase in estimated receipts from fees during the year. The Supplementary Estimate sets out the main heads on which the additional provision is required, and, as I have already stated, this is more than covered by an anticipated increase in receipts from fees and stamps. In the circumstances, I hope that the Committee will grant this token Vote.

Question put, and agreed to.
