HC Deb 05 March 1934 vol 286 c1520
18. Captain ELLISTON

asked the Minister of Agriculture what percentage of milch cows in the dairy herds of this country are infected with, tuberculosis; and how soon the present methods of veterinary supervision may be expected to ensure the eradication of this disease among cattle?

There is no information available upon which to base a firm estimate giving the information required. The measures now in force are designed to remove animals in a stage of disease which renders them dangerous to public health and to other animals, and not primarily for the eradication of disease as such.
