HC Deb 26 June 1934 vol 291 c953
14. Mr. LAMBERT

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs if he will draw the attention of the Australian Government to the fact that the British Government is compelled to subsidise the production of milk products in this country while direct bounty-fed milk products are imported from Australia?

Mr. J. H. THOMAS

His Majesty's Government in the Commonwealth of Australia have already been fully informed of the proposals now embodied in the Milk Bill.

Mr. LAMBERT

May I ask what action is to be taken to prevent the British taxpayer having to subsidise milk products in this country in competition with subsidised milk products from Australia? Is any action to be taken?
