HC Deb 21 June 1934 vol 291 cc528-9
11. Mr. CADOGAN

asked the Home Secretary whether the number of cases dealt with in the juvenile courts during the first six months of the operation of the Children and Young Persons Act of 1933 shows an increase or a decrease upon the number of cases during the previous six months?

Sir J. GILMOUR

There are no statistics available for the country as a whole, but I am informed that in the Juvenile Courts in the Metropolitan Police Court area the number of cases dealt with shows an increase. This would point to an increase generally.
