HC Deb 15 June 1934 vol 290 cc2105-6

2.33 p.m.

The SOLICITOR-GENERAL for SCOTLAND (Mr. Jamieson)

I beg to move, in page 31, line 29, at the end, to insert: (f) section mine of this Act shall not apply. This is purely a drafting Amendment. The words are already in the Bill, but they are in the wrong place. The purpose of the Amendment is to put them into the correct place, and the first part of the next Amendment is to delete them from the place where they now are.

Amendment agreed to.

The SOLICITOR-GENERAL for SCOTLAND

I beg to move, in page 31, line 36, to leave out paragraph (g), and to insert: (g) section thirty of this Act shall have effect as if a reference to the Secretary of State were substituted for any reference to the Board of Trade. Section 30 deals with certain expenses of local authorities which are gas undertakers for which the consent of the Board of Trade has to be obtained. With regard to the Scottish authorities it is proper that the consent should be that of the Secretary of State for Scotland.

Amendment agreed to.

Further Amendment made: In page 32, line 1, leave out "subsection (2) of."—[The Solicitor-General for Scotland.]
