HC Deb 14 June 1934 vol 290 c1869
14. Mr. JOHN

asked the Home Secretary whether he has received a reply from the Mining Association on the subject of silicosis; and whether he is now in a position to review the arrangements now in force under the present scheme?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir John Gilmour)

As the result of the conferences which have recently taken place, I am expecting to receive next week from the Mining Association certain proposals which they desire to submit with a view to remedying the position. I should then be able to review the existing arrangements, and the hon. Member may be assured that every effort will be made to reach an early decision.
