HC Deb 06 June 1934 vol 290 c929
39. Sir GEORGE HAMILTON

asked the Postmaster-General if his attention has been directed to the representations made to the Secretary to the General Post Office by the Ilford Borough Council protesting against designating for the postal services the eastern part of the area of this borough by the name of two adjoining local government districts, namely, Romford and Dagenham; and will he arrange that the present re-designation of parts of the area of the borough should be withdrawn and substituted by postal district names which will not conflict with the names of already defined local government districts?

The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Sir Kingsley Wood)

I am looking into this matter again.

Sir NAIRNE STEWART SANDEMAN

Will the Postmaster-General consider calling one of these districts "George" and the other "Hamilton"?
