HC Deb 06 June 1934 vol 290 c918
3. Mr. CHORLT0N

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if any reports have been received from our consuls in China and Manchukuo with reference to the future prospects of our trade with the latter country; and, if not, will he ask for one to be, made?

Sir J. SIMON

A report on this subject has recently been received from His Majesty's Consul-General at Mukden. The report is at present under examination.

Mr. LAMBERT

Can the right hon. Gentleman say without notice whether there is any discrimination against British trade in that country?

Sir J. SIMON

I do not think that there is, but that is a matter which will shortly be more completely ascertained when this report has been examined.

Mr. CHORLTON

When will the report be published?

Sir J. SIMON

I did not undertake that it would be published. I said that it was under examination, but I will consider that point.
