§ 33. Mr. DAVID DAVIESasked the Secretary for Mines if he will make a statement as to the result of the negotiations, in which his Department have assisted, for a contract for the delivery of haematite iron ore between the British (Guest, Keen, and Baldwin) Iron and Steel Company, Limited, and the Glamorgan Haematite Iron Ore Company, Limited; and if he can state the quantity to be supplied?
§ The SECRETARY for MINES (Mr. Ernest Brown)I am informed that a contract has now been signed between the British (Guest, Keen, Baldwins) Iron and Steel Company and the Glamorgan Haematite Iron Ore Company for the supply by the latter company of 230,000 tons of iron ore for delivery over a period of about 18 months. I need hardly say how pleased I am at this development which will result in a considerable increase in the output of the mine with consequent increase in the employment of iron ore miners.
