asked the Minister of Agriculture on what date the Wilfrid Greene Committee of Inquiry into the beet-sugar industry commenced its sittings; whether it has yet received evidence from the Ministry of Agriculture; on what date it proposes to suspend the hearing of evidence for the summer recess and on what date it will resume taking evidence; and when et is expected that the results of the inquiry will be available for the information of this House?

The Sugar Industry Inquiry Committee commenced its sittings on 9th April, 1934. The committee propose to consider evidence from the Ministry on 1st August, after which date the committee will suspend the hearing of further evidence until 1st October. It is expected that the committee will report in November.
