§ Mr. RAMSBOTHAMThe number of classes in public elementary schools in England and Wales containing more than 50 pupils was 7,986 on 31st March, 1932, and 8,296 on 31st March, 1933. Figures are also now available for the year ended 31st March, 1934, and show that the number of these classes decreased in that year by 2,111, making a total of 6,185.
