SMITH (for Mr. THORNE)asked the Home Secretary whether he has received a report from his Sheffield inspector in connection with the accident to two men who were buried in a trench while excavating near a canal at Neepsend, Sheffield; and whether the trench in question was properly timbered?
§ Sir J. GILMOURI have received a preliminary report on this accident, which occurred last Sunday. The circumstances will be further investigated, and I will communicate the result to the hon. Member.
