HC Deb 24 July 1934 vol 292 c1627
2. Lord SCONE

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether it is the intention of the Government to introduce legislation in regard to the salmon fisheries of Scotland during the lifetime of the present Parliament?

The SECRETARY of STATE for SCOTLAND (Sir Godfrey Collins)

The question of legislation on the subject of salmon fisheries in Scotland has not yet been considered by the Government, and I am not therefore in a position to say when such legislation will be introduced.

Lord SCONE

While thanking my right hon. Friend for his reply, may I ask him to bear in mind that all the salmon fishing interests in Scotland are desirous of having legislation passed as soon as may be reasonably possible?

Sir G. COLLINS

I can assure my Noble Friend that I am aware of the facts and that we are at present considering the subject.
