HC Deb 18 July 1934 vol 292 c1098
38. Lieut.-Commander TUFNELL

asked the Lord President of the Council whether it is proposed to arrange for any preliminary conference between representatives of the Dominions and Colonies in order to obtain agreement with regard to Imperial policy prior to the forthcoming Naval Conference?

The LORD PRESIDENT of the COUNCIL (Mr. Baldwin)

Communications with other parts of the British Commonwealth with regard to the forthcoming Naval Conference are proceeding through the normal channels; in addition my hon. and gallant Friend may be assured that His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom will take any suitable opportunity that may offer prior to the conference, to supplement these communications by personal discussion with representatives of His Majesty's other Governments. The interests of the Colonies will of course be borne in mind by His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom.
