§ 23. Sir FRANK SANDERSONasked the First Commissioner of Works whether he is aware that a charge of 2d. far the whole day is made for seats in the parks; and whether, in view of the fact that these seats are occupied by the majority of persons during the mid-day lunch hour for periods of 30 to 40 minutes only, he will consider reducing the charge to 1d. for a limited period, whereby an increase in the revenue would be obtained combined with increased amenities to the public?
§ Mr. ORMSBY-GOREI am aware of the charge which is at present made for seats in the Royal parks, and I will give consideration to my hon. Friend's suggestion that a reduced charge should be made for a limited period at mid-day. I 'should add, however, that the letting of chairs is the subject of a licence to a contractor and such a, modification could be made only by arrangement with the contractor.
