§ 31. Mr. BANFIELD (for Dr. JOHN VVILLIAMS)asked the Minister of Labour the total number of persons employed in coal-mining in South Wales on 30th Jnue, 1931, 1932, 1933 and 1934; and the number of registered unemployed coal-miners in the area on the same dates?
Mr. STANLEYAs the reply includes a table of figures, I will, if I may, circulate a statement in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
§ Following is the statement:
§ The statistics compiled by my Department regarding employment in particular industries relate only to persons aged 16 to 64 years insured under the Unemployment Insurance Acts. The table below gives the statistics desired, for 774 insured persons aged 16–64 years in the coal-mining industry in South Wales,* so far as they are available.
