§ 21. Mr. THORNEasked the Minister of Transport whether he has received a report in connection with a trailer which broke away from a tractor in Corney Road, Chiswick, and seriously injured a young man; whether the connecting rod was of sound construction; and if he intends making any alterations in the regulations covering the use of trailers whereby safety chains could be connected to the trailer and its motive power?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAI understand that the accident to which the hon. Member refers occurred on private property and accordingly I have not received any report with respect to it. I am in consultation with representatives of the motor vehicle manufacturing interests on the general question of the strength of trailer connections.
§ Mr. THORNEWill the hon. Gentleman see that these trailer connections are strong enough to prevent similar accidents?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAI think my answer covers that point.
