HC Deb 10 July 1934 vol 292 c167
23. Miss CAZALET

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education whether he has considered the resolution sent by the recent conference representing 33 local education authorities in and around Greater London to consider the question of the raising of the school-leaving age; and what action, if any, he proposes to take in the matter?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Ramsbotham)

My Noble Friend has seen the resolution in question. The Government propose to make a statement in the matter very shortly.

Miss CAZALET

Will the Government statement be made before we rise for the Summer Recess?

Mr. RAMSBOTHAM

I understand that my Noble Friend will make a statement in another place to-morrow.

Mr. LEVY

Is it not a fact that there are 10,000 fewer juveniles unemployed to-day than a year ago?
