HC Deb 10 July 1934 vol 292 c161
13. Brigadier-General NATION

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether, in view of the modification in the field training of the Army necessitated by the drought, it is still proposed to spend the whole of the £125,000 allotted in this year's annual Estimate for training?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Douglas Hacking)

Alternative arrangements are being made for the troops who would have been engaged in field training in the Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Essex area to train in the vicinity of their stations. It is not yet possible to assess any reduction of expenditure which may result.
