41. Mr. TEMPLE MORRISasked the Prime Minister whether, before the Debate on the shipping proposals of the Government, he will consider the desirability of publishing for general information at least a précis of the correspondence and negotiations with the different aggregations of shipowners on the subject?
§ Dr. BURGINI have been asked to reply. My right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade is not satisfied that any useful purpose would be served by following this course. The main considerations involved have received wide publicity and the Debate to-morrow will afford an opportunity for full discussion.
§ Mr. MAXTONWill the Debate be opened with a statement by the President of the Board of Trade of a somewhat fuller nature than the answer he gave to a question last week?
§ Dr. BURGINI rather imagine the Debate will be on a Motion tabled by the other side of the House, but I will make inquiries. The President of the Board of Trade will speak during the Debate.
