HC Deb 04 July 1934 vol 291 cc1896-7
18. Mr. MACLEAN

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the log books of the passenger steamers run by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway Company, which carry passengers from Wemyss Bay, Largs and Fairlie to Dunoon, Rothesay, Millport and the Arran holiday resorts, are inspected by the Board of Trade; and if the departures from and arrivals at those places are maintained according to the time-tables published by that railway company?

Lieut.-Colonel COLVILLE

Yes, Sir, but only to ensure that the provisions of the Merchant Shipping Acts have been complied with. As regards the second part of the question, I regret that I have no information.
