asked the President of the Board of Trade the total imports, by quantities, of cotton piece goods for each year from 1929 to 1933, inclusive, into British India, Australia, South Africa, Canada, and New Zealand, respectively, and the quantities imported into each of these countries from the United Kingdom and from Japan, respectively?

II. During the period from September, 1931, to December, 1932, when there was a disparity between South African currency and sterling, the values shown above represent sterling equivalents converted from the original currency at the average prevailing rates of exchange.
(d) I. From 1st April, 1931, the Canadian returns record quantities in lbs.
II. Full particulars for the fiscal year 1933–34 are not yet available.
III. Exclusive of a small number of Cotton Piece Goods items (about one per cent. in 1930–31) which are shown by value only in the original returns.
