§ Sir J. GILMOURI have seen references in the Press to the inquest in question, including a statement attributed to the coroner that he did not direct the exclusion of representatives of the Press. The conduct of the inquest was a matter for the coroner, and did not call for any inquiry on my part.
§ 11. Mr. JOHNasked the Home Secretary whether he will introduce legislation to amend the law governing the duties of coroners in such a way as to ensure that such inquiries should be held in the presence of the Press?
