HC Deb 20 February 1934 vol 286 cc155-6
1. Mr. GUY

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will consider the introduction of legislation amending the law of Scotland dealing with offences against children and young persons?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for SCOTLAND (Mr. Skelton)

My right hon. Friend does not at present propose to introduce legislation dealing with offences against children and young persons, particularly as a number of points relating to the subject were dealt with in the Children and Young Persons (Scotland) Act, 1932. My right hon. Friend will, however, be glad to discuss with the hon. Member any special points which he has in mind.

Mr. GUY

Have the resolutions that were passed at Edinburgh last November been considered?

Mr. SKELTON

Yes, all these matters have been considered before the decision not to institute legislation at the present moment.
