Sir H. YOUNGOf the total population enumerated in England and Wales 2082 at the 1931 Census, 366,486 persons, or 0.92 per cent., were returned as having been born in Scotland. Of the total population enumerated at that Census in Scotland, 168,640 persons, or 3.48 per cent., were returned as having been born in England and Wales.
