§ Mr. HACKINGRepresentations on this subject have been made to the Home 1922 Office. The power of the Secretary of State to make local Orders under the Wild Birds Protection Acts withdrawing or otherwise varying the protection accorded to the peregrine falcon by those Acts, is exercisable only on application made to my right hon. Friend by the council of a county or county borough. The question is therefore one for consideration in the first instance by the appropriate local authority.
