HC Deb 06 February 1934 vol 285 c957
37. Mr. HOLDSWORTH

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether Germany, Norway, Sweden and Denmark have so far complied with the provisions in the recent trade agreements relating to the importation of British coal?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

Germany has fulfilled her obligations which relate to importation month by month. The provisions in the Scandinavian agreements regarding the purchase of coal relate to yearly periods. No question of fulfilment or of non-fulfilment can therefore arise at present.
