asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office the number of horses, dogs and other animals, respectively, used for poison-gas experiments at Porton, Cambridge and elsewhere in Great Britain, respectively, during the years 1932 and 1933?

No dogs or horses were used for experiments during the years in question. During 1932, 83 animals were used at Porton for chemical defence experiments, and 190 for experiments in connexion with the subject of safety in industry. The corresponding figures for 1933 were 72 and 343 respectively. No experiments on animals were carried out elsewhere in connexion with chemical defence.
