WILLIAMSasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been called to the situation arising in the case of imported books which by their nature are on the free list, but which, owing to the inclusion of a minute proportion of silk in their binding, are chargeable with duty on the whole value of the volume; and whether he will take the necessary action to have this adjusted?
