(by Private Notice) asked the Secretary for Mines whether he is taking any action in regard to the dispute at the Boldon Colliery owned by the Harton Coal Company?

I have written to both parties offering the services of my Department with a view to conciliation in this matter. I have received a reply from the owners stating that they will welcome the assistance of the Mines Department with a view to finding a solution of the points of disagreement existing at Boldon Colliery. I have not yet received a reply from the men's representatives.
