§ Mr. COOPERThe increase in the number of staff of the Department of Customs and Excise from all sources, from 1st January, 1932, to 1st October, 1934, the nearest dates for which figures are readily available, was 1,968. The increased cost per annum is estimated at approximately £400,000.
