HC Deb 18 December 1934 vol 296 cc949-50
22. Captain PETER MACDONALD

asked the President of the Board of Trade who will be the British representatives at the forthcoming international shipping conference; and what countries are also sending representatives?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I understand from the Chamber of Shipping of the United Kingdom that a Preparatory Committee is to meet in January next whose duty it will be to prepare the agenda and the basis of discussion for the meeting of the Conference, which it is hoped will take place later in the spring. The representatives of the British shipping industry to attend the Conference have not yet, I am informed, been selected and it is not yet known which countries will send representatives.
