§ 35. Sir A. WILSONasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that a moiety of fines imposed for offences under the Licensing Consolidation Act, 1910, and other Acts such as the Chimney Sweepers Act, 1894, are now credited to the police fund under the Police Pensions Act of 1921; and whether he will review this practice of linking police duties with police pensions?
§ Sir J. GILMOURFines which may be put to the police fund in pursuance of the provisions of the Second Schedule to the Police Pensions Act, 1921, go with other receipts in relief of the general cost of the force, and I cannot regard them as in any way forming a link between police duties and police pensions.
