§ Mr. ELLIOTThe answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. My right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for Scotland, and myself, acting in conjunction under Section 9 of the Milk Act, 1934, have now arranged to fix the 1st February as the appointed day from which the expenditure of the sums provided under that Section is to begin. On that day schemes will come into operation for encouraging the establishment of herds free from tuberculosis by the offer of a bonus on milk produced from such herds.
