HC Deb 17 December 1934 vol 296 c815
38. Mr. McENTEE

asked the Minister of Transport when it is proposed to give effect to the promise given to the House when the London Traffic Bill was under consideration, on behalf of the London and North Eastern Railway Company, that local train services from Liverpool Street station outward would be electrified if the Bill became law?

Sir V. WARRENDER

The railway company say that they do not recollect that any promise was made to the House on their behalf in regard to this matter, which is still under consideration by the Standing Joint Committee of the Main Line Railway Companies and the London Passenger Transport Board.

Mr. McENTEE

Is the hon. Member aware that Lord Ashfield in another place gave a similar promise and that nothing has been done?

Sir V. WARRENDER

I will convey that information to my hon. Friend.
