HC Deb 06 December 1934 vol 295 c1810
22. Sir W. SMITHERS

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that the Dulverton Rural District Council has issued an order for demolition of a house at Withypool and at the same time has given an undertaking that the order will be inoperative for an undefined period of time; and under what statutory authority such an order can be given?

Sir H. YOUNG

I understand that in the case to which my hen. Friend refers the local authority have decided to take no action upon a demolition order made by them until four months after the decease of the old lady who owns and occupies the house. The conditions under which demolition orders are required to be made and executed are laid down in Section 19 of the Housing Act, 1930.
