HC Deb 03 December 1934 vol 295 cc1232-3
50. Mr. TINKER

asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been drawn to the number of accidents which have taken place on the new Liverpool to Manchester road during the night-time; that the road is unlighted with the exception of the main crossings; and will he consider getting the local authorities together through whose areas the road passes, with the object of advising them to have the lighting carried through the whole length?

Mr. BLINDELL

I understand that consultation on this matter has already taken place between the Lancashire County Council and the responsible lighting authorities.

Mr. TINKER

Are they awaiting the report now?

Mr. BLINDELL

I am unable to answer that question?

Mr. TINKER

Will the hon. Member convey it to his right hon. Friend and ask when the report will be issued?

Mr. BLINDELL

Yes.
