HC Deb 19 April 1934 vol 288 c1102
17. Mr. LENNOX-BOYD

asked the Minister of Health if any cases have been brought to his notice within the last 12 months in which local authorities have employed on grant-aided or other public works men who were in receipt of poor relief immediately before employment with a view to qualifying them for unemployment benefit; and what is the attitude of his Department in a matter of this nature?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of HEALTH: (Mr. Shakespeare)

The reply to the first part of the question is in the negative, and the second part does not therefore appear to arise.
