§ Sir J. GILMOURThe average daily strength of the police forces of England 1110 and Wales (excluding police firemen and other additional constables) during the year ending on 29th September, 1933, was 56,924. The number of ex-police officers in receipt of pensions on 31st March, 1933, was 34,330.
