HC Deb 19 April 1934 vol 288 c1106
32. Sir PERCY HURD

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the increasing danger to human and animal life and limb and to property, especially in the villages, arising from the fast through traffic on the Bath Road, in Wiltshire, following upon the widening of the highway; and whether he will confer with the authorities in Wiltshire as to the best means of minimising this danger?

Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAM

No representations have been made to my hon. Friend, the Minister of Transport, on this subject by local authorities in Wiltshire, but he would, of course, be willing to give consideration to any proposals they may put forward. I am sending a copy of my hon. Friend's question to the County Council. I would also draw his attention to the various provisions of the Road Traffic Bill now before Parliament.
