asked the Postmaster-General whether it is the general practice for telephone operators to announce the passage of each three minutes to persons engaged in long-distance telephone calls?

Yes, Sir, such an announcement is the practice in this country.

Mr. ANSTRUTHER-GRAY

Is my right hon. Friend aware that this is not invariably done by employés in the Post Office, and will he issue a circular drawing their attention to it?

Sir K. WOOD

I do not think that is necessary. If the hon. Member has any case into which he would like me to inquire, I will gladly do so.
