asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when the present public auditors were appointed and approved by him in the case of Greenock Town Council; and what is the amount paid each year to the auditors?

The appointment of an auditor to audit the accounts of the town council of Greenock is an annual appointment. The present auditor was first appointed on 21st May, 1931, and he was re-appointed on 12th May, 1932, and on l2th May, 1933. The fee for auditing the accounts for the year 1932–33 as approved by me is £750 4s.
