HC Deb 10 April 1934 vol 288 cc144-5
13. Mr. STOREY

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will now state what steps he proposes to take to assist British shipping to meet foreign subsidised competition?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave to him and other hon. Members on the 6th March.

Mr. STOREY

Can the right hon. Gentleman say when he is likely to be in a position to make a statement?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

The matter is receiving our daily consideration, and I hope we shall lose no time in reaching a conclusion.
