HC Deb 10 April 1934 vol 288 cc146-7
19. Sir W. BRASS

asked the Minister of Transport whether he can inform the House how long the Oxford by-pass road has been under construction; and when it is estimated that the work will be completed and the road opened to the public?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of TRANSPORT (Lieut.-Colonel Headlam)

Work began in December, 1930. Two sections are already open to the public, and a third section will be opened about the end of next month. It is expected the whole of the by-pass will be completed and opened to the public by September of next year.
