HC Deb 27 November 1933 vol 283 c515
53. Mr. BATEY

asked the Secretary of Mines what further reductions France has decided to make in the imports of British coal; and what the tonnage will now be?

The SECRETARY for MINES (Mr. Ernest Brown)

The quota of coal imports into France from all countries is to be reduced as from 1st December by 10 per cent. I have caused inquiries to be made as to the method of calculation to be applied in arriving at the new quota for Great Britain, and I will inform my hon. Friend as soon as I receive the information.
