asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he can make any statement as to recent steps to secure economy in public expenditure; and whether he will indicate his future policy?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

It is, and will continue to be, the policy of His Majesty's Government to pay the strictest regard in its day to day administration to the possibility of securing all practicable reductions of expenditure.
