HC Deb 16 November 1933 vol 281 cc1085-6
2. Mr. LIDDALL

asked the Minister of Labour the total number of juveniles aged 14 to 16 in employment in Great Britain; how many juveniles aged 14 to 16 work without legal limits of hours; and how many work for hours so long or at such periods that it is impossible for them to attend evening classes?

The MINISTER of LABOUR (Sir Henry Betterton)

Statistics are not available showing the total numbers of juveniles aged 14 to 16 in employment in Great Britain. As regards the second and third parts of the question, complete statistics are not available but some information is given in the fourth report of the National Advisory Council for Juvenile Employment for England and Wales and the sixth report of the corresponding council for Scotland, copies of which I am sending my hon. Friend.
